This problem has not only been around for a long time but has also been fairly well documented, including workarounds. But I’m still surprised how often I hear about people battling with it! It can be triggered by all manner of miniaturised problems but one that seems to occur more frequently is moving an element by a small amount.

ElementTooSmall

So here’s a quick tip, rather than moving the element further away then back to it’s destination (seemingly a common workaround), try selecting the element, dragging it in the direction that you want to move it (further than required), and then type in the required distance (temporary dimensions generally provide you with this measurement). This works for the smallest of measurements and is typically easier and faster, especially for those with keyboard short-cut tendencies.
